Like the EW-500, the EW-600 has a battery pack that is designed for quick easy removal and which is highly portable (see picture at left).  The ability to remove the battery enables the rider to charge the battery easily at work, at home, at a friend's house or anywhere!  The battery can also be left in the bike and charged through an external port. The removable battery provides the ability to increase effective driving range. Thus the EW-600 is great for everyday transportation. 

The EW-600 is classified as a electric bicycle and is legal most everywhere with no license needed to operate.* And usually no insurance and no DMV registration fees are required. The EW-600 can be ridden without the pedals but, if you want it to qualify as an electric bicycle, they should be installed.
